Creation of e-book documenting the construction and operation of a RepRap 3-dimensional printer
Objective:
As a class, we will work with the newly released iBook Author software to create a guide to building a RepRap 3D printer by a high school robotics class. Both classes will participate. Underclassmen will be listed as the eBook authors and be given credit for the intellectual content. Each will be responsible for the content of periodically assigned topics relevant to the project. Seniors will act as editors, but will not be credited except within the introduction to eBook, associated wiki, and any hardcopy produced. Daniela will be listed as Editor.
Authors:
Konstantin Kotschenreuther
Madison Hampton
Daniela Lopez-Salcedo (Editor)
Maria Rebecca Abney
Richard C. Grayson III
Antonia Huth
William LeClair
Luke Micelle
Nick Yashko
Software
We will be using iBook Author version 1.1 from Apple Computer to create the ebook from text, photos, hyperlinks, screen captures, scans and existing Internet resources. Version 1.1 of the software optimizes our work for display on the new retinal display iPad.
This Wiki
This wiki is designed to help our Robotics classes collect relevant information and organize the materials for the eBook. Individually, each of us need not know everything about building and operating a robotic printer, but together, we are capable of building, researching, documenting and publishing about our collective work. Each student will be responsible for assuring that the material they add is in their own words and that they obtain permission to use any copyrighted materials from the copyright holder.
